The Opportunity

The Government of Manitoba has offered the four First Nations the opportunity to sustainably manage an ~800 000 hectares forestry management license area; this is one of the last available crown forest tenures in Canada. The tenure is being offered to the four principle First Nation communities to sustainably manage the forest with traditional knowledge and values.  

This opportunity has the potential to provide lasting socio- economic benefits to the Nations' people.
